post bd treats.

this year, my birthday was sandwiched between 2 papers of my final examination. i had to study. my friends had to study. practically, there was no gap, no time, and no mood for celebrations at all. after the exams, i rushed back for cheng beng and didnt even say goodbye.

** For my friends who don't know what Cheng Beng is :
Actual Date: 5th April 2009
(Cheng Beng can be done 10 days before and after the actual day)

Qing Ming, Cheng Beng or All Souls' Day, also known as the Tombs Sweeping Festival, falls on April 5th every year except for leap years when the festival falls on April 4th.

During Cheng Beng, graves of ancestors and the dearly departed are visited by relatives and friends who come together from far to pay their respects annually. The Chinese community can be seen weeding and cleaning the graves of those departed as well as providing offerings of the departed's favourite food and burn joss-sticks, hell notes and gold bars which allows the departed to make purchases where they are. Daily necessities such as clothes and shoes are also burnt for the dead to use. This 20 days period is when souls of the departed leave the underworld and enter this worldly realm to accept offerings from their living relatives.

back in mlk during the sembreak, met up with S and she gave me a pressie which she so conveniently forgot to peel the price tag off. thanks to those who shared! bro gave me cash xP dad treated me to dinner n cake. sis gave me a treasure hunt where i had to run around searching for clues which led to my present. (she too free d!) cracked my head, but it was worth it :)

thanks lil sis
